Farm Marketing Solutions is a resource for farmers looking to start or build their farm business. View full mission statement here.

As farmers, a lot of us are really good at raising chickens, growing vegetables, or herding cattle, but not all of us are great at business and marketing. Me personally, if I could just raise my crops and give them away and still live a good life I would. But I cannot. I must make money doing what I love.

Perhaps you:

  • Are looking to start a farm but don't know where to begin.
  • Are 1-3 years into running your farm and you really need to make the business viable.
  • Or you have been farming for years and you are looking to expand your farm business or bring it to the next level.

Regardless of where you are on your journey Farm Marketing Solutions will prove to be a valuable resource for you. I share all of my successes and failures running my farm. I have compiled the resources that I have used through the years to get where I am. I even created some that did not exist anywhere else.

I produce the Growing Farms Podcast bi-weekly where I interview farmers from all over the country on how they are surviving not only as a farm, but specifically as a farm business. It is a podcast about the business of farming.

If there is something that you have been looking for and have not been able to find, or if there is something you would like to add to this site please feel free to contact me. This is a ever growing resource which thrives off of your collaborative efforts.

Who am I?

I am currently the Farm Manager at Camps Road Farm in Kent, CT. Camps Road Farm raises chickens on pasture for meat and eggs, produces non-certified organic vegetables year-round, has a hop yard that services an on-farm brewery, and an apple orchard that services an off-farm distillery.

Before that I ran my own Pastured Poultry & Herb CSA in New Milford, CT. Each week CSA members would get a whole chicken and a bunch of culinary herbs. I combined my own farm with Camps Road Farm because I wanted to see the businesses grow together.

From that experience I created an eBook detailing the designs for my chicken tractors.

Before that my background is quite diverse. Through the years I have worked on a number of farms, visited dozens more. I used to be the lighting technition for the Howard Stern Show. I have worked in website design, photography, and just about every trade. All of these skills combined have proven to ake me a great farmer.

If you want to hear more about the heart and passion that went into my career choice visit me at FoodCyclist.com.
